The following was at the end of Berman's article in The Post:
While in Chicago yesterday, Walsh visited another Curry -- Eddy. According to Eddy Curry's twitter blog, Walsh watched one of his workouts and was impressed. The Knicks are hoping Curry drops 30 pounds this summer. Walsh did not return phone messages.
The article was mostly about the Draft Combine and more speculation about Stephen Curry, but the tibit above was thrown in.

Walsh was impressed, eh? Glad to hear it, but a little detail would've helped. After all, Curry still needs to learn how to play the game.

I read on realgm- "He's working very hard and it's working," Walsh told The Post. "He's starting to develop muscles in his shoulders, neck. You see his body changing. If he keeps this up through the summer, he can be successful. He's got a good team of people around him, encouraging him to work."

Curry knows how to play the game. His conditioning/attitude stand in the way of being a pretty good NBA center. I'm skeptical that the light went on with Curry but hopeful it has as he could become a valuable component/asset on the Knicks. I have my doubts that even an in shape Curry is made for D'Antoni's game but an in shape and focused Curry would be a lot easier to trade than the one we have now.

How about trading Eddy to the Pistons. The Pistons have a ton of cap room (about $19M) and are willing to trade the #15 pick in the draft. We could take back the smaller contract of Amir Johnson and let him be the defensive center for the team. Detroit has apparently soured on him. Then with the #15 pick, we could select a F like James Johnson or Earl Clark or even BJ Mullens for OSU.
Johnson makes only $3.7M so that his contract would not hurt our goals for 2010. Eddy makes $9.7M. That would take up $5M of Detroit's cap space since they would save about $1M by trading the pick. Detroit gets the low post center it needs and can try to re-sign Rasheed who provides the defense to cover up for Eddy. Plus, Detroit dumps the Amir contract, but that contract would work for us since Amir can probably provide 10 minutes a game of good defense.

Eddy has to show himself to be able to play before anybody even thinks of making a deal for him. In other words NBA GMs call Eddy Curry a career killer. ; )

Hello gentleman, I wonder if a sign and trade with New orleans regarding chandler for wilcox could be revisited. To me an improved eddy and a garbage man Chandler 2009 version of the failed chicago experiment could commence and fortify our frontline next season.
If only at least until Eddy's value goes up for us to trade him him elsewhere. Also if we ever did trade away David Lee away do you think atlanta woulld be willing to part with Al Horford or Marvin williams and what other pieces would have to be in play because both of those player would look great in the system and in our uniform.

It's good thinking but it's unlikely the Knicks will go after Tyson Chandler. First he is signed through 2010-11 though his last year is a player option year. He is injury prone too and offensively challenged. I think the cap impact is the killer though. Also Chris Wilcox is an unrestricted free agent July 1st. We would have to do a sign and trade and throw in another player to match Chandler's salary. I doubt the Hornets would want Jared Jefferies. ; )

Guys. As much as I want Eddy traded, Bill is right on point. No one will take this guy unless he proves to be an NBA player, not in skill, but in conditioning. You couldn't trade Curry for a bag of potato chips (sorry, Eddy, didn't mean to bring food up in the discussion), although Eddy has youth, skills, and, yeah, size. Donnie Walsh can only make a deal, if Eddy does not look like he does in the below picture.
