I'm glad we're talking about what Curry will and/or won't be in his career long before the draft. That way, this board won't be flooded with those messages when the time comes.
And since we're taking that approach, I'll do the same by reminding everyone that I DON'T CARE whether or not he'll be an All-Star, or a team star, or a starter. I simply want this kid to start off by fitting in with the team and helping them win games. Period.

DA You know you are going to Hell for suggesting we draft a Tarheel, right? Maybe, but I am more likely going there for throwing twinkies at Dennis Scott and chanting JR CAN'T Reid while I was actually at Duke.

I may be one of the few that has seen him play in person. It was 2 years ago mind you, but I saw him play in SoCal versus the UCLA Bruins.
Being a USC fan I was obviously rooting for him and Davidson to beat the Bruins. However they basically removed him from that game by their normal tough defnse. That was eye opening.
It wasnt like they had big guards on him but they had 6-0 Collison and occasionally 6-3 Westbrook. Curry went 6-19 shooting wise and Davidson, though putting up a good fight, lost by 13.
Curry seemed hesitant, had 3 assists all day though touching the ball on almost every Davidson offensive play. He wasnt fast. The NBADraft.net, which isnt very accurate in theur NBA comparisons, had him somehwere between Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (?) and Steve Kerr (some resemblance as a shooter). I dont know about you but that doesnt excite me for a #8 pick.
There will likely be SF-SG Demar DeRozan, PG-SG Jrue Holliday and others that are more athletic and multi talented (Jrue is a true point guard). Ill get into them in another post.

I don't want Curry for similar reasons, but also because I want the defense to improve and it won't with Curry on the Knicks. Jrue Holliday might be a good pick, but I am not sold on DeRozan, but I really want Tyreke Evans, whom I have watched on numerous occasions, and he is, arguably, the most athletic guard out there. He can play 2 or 3 positions PG, SG and SF @ 6'6", can penetrate to the rim, and while switching to PG his team went undefeated until losing in the NCAA tournament, in the quarters, I believe. In addition, he is young, so he has a long career in the NBA in front of him. Evans on the Knicks gives D'Antoni a lot of options on both defense and offense with match-ups etc. For instance: start Evans and Duhon, or Hughes and Evans, or Chandler and Evans. Or bring Evans off the bench for Duhon, then when Duhon comes back in he switches to SG. The defense will be so much better with Evans than anyone else currently being discussed at the guard position that is.

I am on the record for CURRY. How can you compare him to Marbury? He has a deadly shot, open, off a curl, pick and roll, pull up, and a 3? He also has 60 more IQ points than Marbury. He will develop and gain muscle, and be our future opint That being said, I'll take Derozan over him, but not Evans. Id take Flynn over Lawson but not over Curry. Id make that trade for Mcgrady, we get rid of nothing for a glimmer of hope, no harm no foul.
