One of the things that struck me during the excellent Celtics/Bulls series is what would it be like if we had not made the Curry trade and Tyus Thomas and Joakim Noah were on the Knicks?
Noah won't be an All-Star, or even close, but he is high energy, smart, boards, defends and scores when he has the opportunity. His real strength is he is 6'11 and can play defense and he handles and passes the ball like a guard. His real weakness is weakness (pun intended) and a shooting range no greater than 5 feet. Still would he not be better than what we have now? Noah averaged 10ppg, 13 rpg and over 2 blocks for the Celtics series. Solid numbers. What's more Noah is perfect in a "system" where he stays within himself and does the things he can do well. I know he is a flake but trust me, if he's your player it grows on you. ; )
Thomas is more an enigma but he might be the freakiest athlete in the NBA not named Nate and he has improved especially his shooting and range. What's more he would be a great fit for the D'Antoni system.
BTW, I kept hearing the announcers talk about the Celtics not having Garnett but did they forget the Bulls didn't have Lueol Deng? I'm not equating them but Deng is an excellent player and certainly could have pumped up their offense.
That leads to another good question. Do the Bulls re-sign Gordan now?

they might be able to re-sign him on the cheap now. Tyrus has come a long way, he's got a mean streak, he's a freak, and now he's knocking down 12 footers. Great point about Deng, considering he was their best player the past 2 years.
