The Chinese Magic Johnson as they called him in Asia, who despite winning a ring with the Lakers as a lowly 15th man on the defending champs bench, was released this summer in free agency. He is 6'9" a nice passer and this is a chance for him to come to come camp and try to make the rotation perhaps in training camp. With the inclusion of Morris Almond, Gabe Pruitt, Warren Carter, and the restricted roster spots both David Lee and Nate take up and not including Cuttino Mobley's roster spot being taken up, that is 17 players coming into camp to take up 15 spots. I wish we could trade Mobley's roster spot for a live body(expiring of course) or a future mid first pick next or something because the face that his non existence still takes up a roster spot makes it hard for a young guy to really compete. Memphis seems like they have the room to take on an extra contract. I wonder if they could trade us that Denver pick they acquired which would be better than not having one at all in next year's deep draft, you know? Anyway, here's the link to the Sun Yue signing via the Knicks fix by my favorite Knicks sportswriter Alan Hahn: www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/the-knicks-fix-1.812055-Jason

I think Crawford is coming too,he played good in Vegas.I like Gabe Pruitt, the Chinese Majic can't play defense and can't shoot or rebound other than that LOL,Carter and Almonds showed some life in Vegas.

Sun Yue CMON. Kool aid has a terrible taste when it is vomited. I could almost buy Gabe Pruitt and want to be pleased by Morris Almond but cmon. Enen Shawn Bradley called Sun soft.

There are 17 players under some sort of contract, including Mobley, Chris Hunter and Joe Crawford, Warren Carter and Gabe Pruitt, but not including Sun Yue, or Morris Almond who as of now has not been invited to camp, nor has Patrick Ewing Jr. or Tskitishvili who was at least better than Sene in Vegas.

Hi Jason...
I remember that Sun Yue was just recently released from the Lakers, and Phil Jackson had the utmost in praise for him. Being the 15th man on LA is like being the 6th man on New York, so maybe this kid has something more than superlative height for the PG position. Jackson basically said that with the caliber of players on his team, Sun didn't and couldn't receive the proper playing time. He is also a class act, according to his LA mates.
I thought that the Knicks should immediately have looked into this player when he was released, and they obviously may have.
Love Alan Hahn as well, for he stays on track of the team and loves the Knicks as well, which is a nice departure from haters like Mark Berman, Mitch Lawrence, and the recent disappointing views and work of my former favorite, Frank Isola. Howard Beck of The NY Times is an exemplary writer and has now taken first place among NY area writers in my book, with Alan Hahn a close second.

It doesn't cost us any thing but playing time for someone else.I guess the price is right to bring these guys in,they allare good at somethings and bad at others ,the skills that can adapt to our system has some merit as to how much chance these guyss might stick.

There was a time when people thought a lot of this kid. He is tall and he has a decent handle though noticeably weaker with his off hand than his strong hand. He is a good if not creative passer with great size at 6'9 but only adequate athletically. Supposedly he is an absolutely lousy shooter which begs the question why is he with the Knicks. Below is a DraftXPress look at Sun Yue. His one real redeeming value is his smoking hot Chinese supermodel girlfriend. ; ) www.draftexpress.com/profile/Sun-Yue-1024/

I wonder if she knows how to cook... Who cares if she knows how to cook? I know how to cook. I know how to make reservations. I know how to worship at her feet. She can do the rest. ; )
