Good News...
Possibly getting a healthy Jonathan Bender. The still young Bender has enormous talent and the only thing stopping him was health. With 3 seasons off to recuperate he doesn't have to be the Bender of 1999 to be effective. His stats don't jump out mainly because he played on a loaded Pacers team but he was a rising star going into the 2002 season when his knees started bothering him. He's got a world of ability, he's a great person (he started a not for profit organization to help Katrina victims and he has always been active in community affairs and organizations) and he's hungry to play again and prove he can be a better than good NBA player.
Tim Thomas is likely to be signed by the Mavs.
Bad News...
Entering into "discussions" with Jamal Tinlsey. Walsh knew this guy so he has to know he was poison in the lockerroom and a disappointment on the court. Take him to lunch, discuss the good old days and then leave PG to Duhon, Douglas and maybe....
No News...
The lack of movement so far with David Lee and Nate Robinson. The Nate talks have hit a snag while the Lee talks ran into a granite wall. I know we have time but it just seems to me you build animosity with these players the more the process drags out.

Good News... Does Bender have any cartilage in his knees? Tyrus and Boozer rumors make it interesting. I have to disagree with the Tinsley statement. Tinsely is talented and can pass the rock. One year deal, and he's on his best behavior for a new contract. The guy needs to showcase himself on the court and the locker room. IMHO.
Bad News We sign Lee and Nate, makes for a boring offseason.

Axios
Just say NO to Tinsley. ; ) Duhon can do everything Tinsley can do and he's a model citizen, hard worker and still young enough to improve. I cannot say the same about Tinsley who IMHO is Marbury Lite. ; )
Jon Bender is borrowing cartilage from my knees.... ; )

lol-
i have a feeling donnie will sign Tinsely. I think he watched Duhon fall apart from wear and tear, toney is a rookie. Tinsley gives us the insurance we didnt have last year.

Tinsley may be a good cheap move, one that may be holding up signing Nate to that $6 million dollar contract, although maybe these are two separate issues. I think Donnie may be taking a risk if he does sign Jamaal, but I am sure it would be to a voidable veteran's type contract with more provisions in it than my last divorce. Talent-wise, I think that Jamaal has more skills than Chris Duhon can ever have, and I agree with Ax that he is an insurance policy, albeit one that may take valuable time away from Toney Douglas. I think that the Knicks PG situation is weak, at best, and after careful thought in considering Walsh's apparent plan to save money, this may be a very good solution.
J-Bends is a player who I don't even remember playing an NBA game. I do recall him being very young coming out of school and that he is close to, if not 7 feet tall. This is another Walsh connection and he may be perfectly suited to the D'Antoni system. Bender also makes Jeffries completely useless for the Knicks, which may allow for a Nate/Jeffries package to even get a guy like Brad Miller, simply for his expiring contract.
I cannot even begin to speculate about the David Lee situation, which I fear is getting worse by the hour. However, that RealGM report did say that Walsh would do a sign and trade for Tyrus Thomas if Lee did not accept the Knicks $6,000,000 offer. At that point, and I do not know what happens if a player rejects the qualifying offer, Ty's salary would match up easier as the Knicks can simply add $1.8 million to make this rumored deal work.
I think that if the Bulls are eager to move Tyrus, then I have no fear at all in saying goodbye to Lee. I think Thomas is a better fit for the Knicks, is a better athlete than Lee, is 3 years younger, and plays with fire.
I think the Knicks will sign Nate Robinson as his 17 points per game off the bench as well as his own fire and will to win are qualities one wants in all their players. Plus he is an important piece to moving one of the two horrific contracts that extend into 2010-2011. Getting rid of Curry and Jeffries is paramount to anything else the Knicks do this year, IMHO.

I agree getting rid of our contracts is very important but we also want to retains assets and get younger lower salary players through the draft and trades,I think the Chicago move is starting to look better for us by the minute ,our defense will improve and we will get more rebounds from the five and three so D Lee impact won't be missed much and he can take his moron agent with him to Chi town. And I wouls personally introduce my self to his girl friend here in NY to attend her NY needs while DLee joins a team that now will still not be able to hit a jump shoot from outside to save their lives. He can freeze his ass off in the windy city and learn to become a cub fan.LOL

They both would hang at the same clubs; chase the same hotties; and hang out all night. Only difference is that Tinsley rolls with Cheese ; WeeBay ; Bodie ; & Snoop while Duhon hangs with Turtle; Drama & E.

GG...
Actually Tinsley hung out yesterday with Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni, and, according to The NY Post, absolutely nothing in terms of a contract or playing possibilities were discussed. I guess the falls under the category of "No news is good news"?
Happy 100th post day! More karma for you, my colleague!
