I’ve been defending Kemba against you guys on Facebook, but as a Knicks and jets fan I’ve always been the patient kind! Thibs sees what you see and apparently he’s had enough. I would have tried swapping him with D. Rose at first but I perfectly understand. Quite an indictment of Leon Rose though, don’t you think? When Leon was hired point guard was the biggest hole on the team and in two offseason he’s done nothing to fix it. And this off-season, unlike the other two he won’t have cap space. My question is who replaces Burks on the second unit? Grimes? I hope so

At least with Grimes his motor is high, he can shoot and defend. Why not?

I've been shouting this from the rooftops. It's about time this move was made. I'm just surprised that hes completely out of the rotation and. Something must have happened

Burks has been ballin. And at his size you switch a lot more with Burks. BURKS' plus minus has been excellent and Kemba's defensive numbers have been odious.

It all works better with Burks because he’s a defender and shooter and a true point guard like Kemba is virtually useless when your offensive game plan is to have Randle pound the ball. Kemba’s failures on defense are completely his own, but his failures on offense are squarely on Thibs and Randle. Kemba is shooting 41% from three with all his struggles and the inability to find him more open looks falls squarely on the coach and the “point forward.”

But Randle and Kemba's number together are terrible. So if you have to choose one then it is Julius. That would move kemba to the bench BUT there is no way you can play Kemba IQ and DRose together.

If this is a move to make then why were we subjected to Elf as a starter last season, what is so apparent with Kemba that wasn’t with Elf? Is it simply and squarely the defense? I’m just confused on this one.

I’m just confused on this one. I'd say it is 95% defense. Opponents are shooting over 50% against Kemba. The other 5% is that kemba and Julius haven't developed any offensive chemistry.

Agree with everything you said, Gates, Julius over Kemba every time, but with the game on the line on Tuesday we’re playing hero ball with Julius and the Nets are playing hero ball with an all time great. We’ll lose that matchup every time. Tonight the opponents have DeRozen and Lavine. We’re only beating bad teams down the stretch as long as Julius is our best player. Offense down the stretch should be in the hands of DRose.

I’m just confused on this one. I agree. I don't think IQ was ready LAST YEAR and he wanted Rose to be with the reserves. So this year all our guards are better than Kemba

I am sure that it is about defense. Kemba has been okay on offense although I have been disappointed with his handle and court vision.
