I just saw this on Twitter:
The Celtics essentially traded a 1st round pick, two 2nd round picks, and took on Al Horford's contract for Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier to walk to the Knicks for cap space

He won't unfortunately is the easy answer May be quite a bit of garbage time. ๐ With the amount of time missed by these old dudes I think if they prove to Thibs they can play dee expect time with defensive substitutes for starters and if they perform great they will demand time by their play and earn it the way it should be.

Rene, you donโt know Thibs by now? Heโll play Burks at the point before he puts a rookie in there! I can easily see Deuce in the G league for awhile to keep sharp.

Not crazy about this move, sorry. He's a diminutive volume/inefficient scoring point guard who averages a paltry 5 assists per game, doesn't draw fouls, and will be gobbled up on every single high pick and roll-- not to mention his injuries? It's only money but the potential price we pay in lowering morale... And yet I'm hearing he's a great locker room guy. We shall see.
I was hoping for a bigger younger player like Lonzo Ball. Better distributor, better defender, better rebounder, same efficiency, better 3-point shooter, better at keeping the ball moving.

I'm glad because I never really wanted Ball in the first place especially given his cost. I like what Rose and the Knicks did with Kemba Walker. A lot. NY got the scoring boost they needed and a player who can get his shot at all 3 levels. If you factor in the negligible cost and the fact that Kemba will split time with Derrick Rose it mitigates a lot of concerns. Supposedly the left knee is healthy which helps but the bottom line is the Knicks got a boost in offense in a position where they were vulnerable and it cost nothing but money and not a lot of money at that compared to what Kemba brings to the team. Thibs will hide him on defense and every other Knick will profit from having Walker on the floor.
Time will tell but IMHO Leon Rose did a masterful job of adding what was needed on the team and keeping the key parts of the band together AND happy. Chemistry is a huge factor in the Knicks success and Professor Rose did an outstanding job in the lab.

Tom may have a thing against playing rookies but IQ and Obi were in the rotation last year and McBride was Tom's personal choice at the draft. Vildoza is behind Walker and Rose but don't be shocked if McBride gets some burn especially as an irritant to the Curry and Young type. I'm not saying Duece can even slow down Steph Curry or Trae Young but he dang sure can piss them off ala Patrick Beverly.
