Suddenly Berman has gained some respect with him being the only one to link the Knicks to Grimes, so here’s some free agency tidbits from his last two articles:
“The Knicks’ decision to trade the 19th pick in this year’s draft to the Hornets for a heavily protected future selection was done to free up another $2.4MM for free agency, according to Marc Berman of The New York Post, citing an NBA executive who has talked to team president Leon Rose. New York never planned to use both of its first-round picks Thursday night and was happy to get Quentin Grimes and Miles McBride after trading down. Even if the Knicks can’t lure top targets Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry in free agency, they will have plenty of options at point guard, Berman adds. With more than $50MM in cap space, New York can outbid rival teams for Spencer Dinwiddie, Cameron Payne, Dennis Schroder or Reggie Jackson. Restricted free agent Lonzo Ball remains a possibility, but the Knicks saw him as a better fit in February than they do now, sources tell Berman. Re-signing Derrick Rose, a favorite of Thibodeau, remains on the table, although the front office is debating whether to make a long-term offer to Rose, who will turn 33 in October. The Bulls may get into the bidding for the Chicago native. Saturday’s decision to waive back-up center Norvel Pelle increases the chances that Taj Gibson will be back on the roster next season, Berman states in a separate story. A source said the Knicks would consider re-signing Pelle at some point during the season if injuries leave them needing help in the middle”

I have been watching tape on Payne and he is fast,it is going to be interesting the way they go because they really don't know what they have in Deuce and Luca and IQ year two point ability.Payne is very young,TNT is interesting cause his dee and driving ability.I go for TNT cause he can play two or one and has huge potential.

If I'm the Knicks i target three guys Fournier,Dennis Schroder and Talen Horton-Tucker THT and make Lebron and Boston cry as a side note.I would be happy with Fournier and THT and waiting for point prices to drop adn Sexton price to drop and see summer league guys play first before point.Of all the points I'd go for Schroder 28 and Payne 27 both are in thier prime.Small Forward I'm in the Oubre or Fournier camp and I want THT as my jack of all trade off the bench .I would hand LA a nice poison pill THT contract .

Could see Fornier. Payne while extremely quick doesnt see floor. Lakers will definitely keep THT as they are too limited cap space wise not to.Schroeder is interesting. I think he is much better than he showed late last season.

I agree Gates Schroder had a great year a so so playoffs, but LA realize how valuable he was for their season. He might be our guy.I hear we want two years only deal and will overpay for the two.Fournier is a good player Boston wants to sign stealing him will give me great pleasure even though they only gave two 2nd's for him that hurts them.I wonder if we can Low ball Schroeder now they have Westbrook. He wants 20 per for four. That is not going to fly with Leon.THT we can give a three year poison pill like 3 yr 40 Gates if they want to keep him then it a tough swallow.

I want us to make a move for Duncan Robinson and call Miamis bluff of matching. Let's say a 17 mil a year deal. And I want us to make a play for Patty Mills. I heard Chicago, Indiana and Boston are going after him.
I don't like Schroeder as much as I did years ago.

I dont like Schroeder as much as i did either but he is likely to better with the ball in his hands as opposed to spotting up off the ball. i'm worried about mills mileage, I'd like Robinson but Riley may well do a sign and trade. He's clever like that and many teams want Robinson.

Lowry is 37 and CP3 is as old as Milton Burle so as far as mileage between the 3 free agent choices, I'd take Mills because he would cost the least.

John Hollinger of The Athletic said the Celtics traded for Josh Richardson yesterday because they know Fournier is gone and everyone expects it to be the Knicks. Rose wanted Hayward bad last year and does not want a comparable player to get away this time. I’ve heard the Heat will definitely match on Robinson and they can do that and Lowry without going over the luxury threshold. I guess I prefer Sexton to Schroeder but wonder why it hasn’t happened already, so Schroeder won’t surprise me. They’re both considered dicks though, so I hope they fit in the locker room. And speaking of dicks, Jason brought up the legend Milton Berle, who was rumored to have the biggest dick in show business. Howard Stern had him as a guest once and asked him if the rumors were true and if Milton would show him. Milton replied, “let’s have a dick measuring contest. You take yours out, then I’ll take out just enough out to beat you!”

I think everyone here is not crazy about Schroader, the problem is we need a point bad and want an exp guy,I prefer a guy that has good exp versus one who's exp sucks, now I hear we were scouting him all year so if we commit to him we definitely study the situation well.

Every team he was on got better after he left. This is a trend with Atlanta, OKC and soon to be LA.
