.....is our pursuit of a point guard in free agency over since we have Mcbride, Vildoza, Quickley and perhaps Rose resigned?
It would make little sense in signing a big PG now don't you think?
Maybe focus on the wing and bench 3 point threats? Or do you risk stunting the growth of the young players in Luca, Quick and Mcbride by signing CP3 or Lowry or Ball(well he's still young) in free agency?
Just curious what you all think.

I’m about to put Ian’s latest on the board, and you can see by that they’re definitely still looking for a point guard. And IMO they should be. IQ to me is more of a two guard, although maybe one day he can be a good PG in the league. I don’t see it though. I think it was Gates who mentioned that he doesn’t see the whole court really well and I think his ball handling and passing skills need a lot of work if he’s ever going to be a point guard. Luca is a complete unknown, there’s no way they’ll go into free agency thinking he solves their point guard problems, and they’re not turning the job over to a second round rookie at this point either. I don’t think they’ll trade for Sexton, because I think they would have done it already if they wanted him, although it could be a fall back option. I also don’t think they’ll sign Ball, because I keep reading they’re not big fans of him, although that could be a smokescreen. Not to mention the whole matching thing. I know NO doesn’t want him but I could see them matching and trading him elsewhere.

I talk a lot about trust. I trust our management so I cannot imagine they invested in Luca Vildoza if they didn't have a plan for him. Sometimes the group approach can work and with Rose, Vildoza and McBride the Knicks have some PGs who cumulatively might supply what the Knicks need. Plus the Knicks have a distributed approach to playmaking with Randle and RJ being better than average distributors. If you look at the current construct of the Knicks you see 3 point shooters all over the place including Grimes and McBride to go with Rose, Randle, RJ, Vildoza, Knox and even Obi not to mention players they might bring back like Burks or Bullock. Having a lot of 3 point shooters spreads the court and makes passing a bit simpler and more effective.
IQ is not a PG but he can be our Microwave. I'm good with that because bench scoring is vital.

I do think they go for a PG as Rose may go back home (i expect he'd stay though) The others are long term possible answers. It is a PG world and quite a few will be available. I will be fascinated by what players fall through the cracks as there are far more free agents than cap dollars around the league.

I was wondering about this dilemma, and I think I figure out what they are going to try,we are going to offer THT a poison pill deal, this is an up and coming starr LA keep out of AD deal for a reason he is real good.He can play point and he drives alot which is what Thibs likes plus he is developing into a star like our RJ is.The dude has a sick 7 ft wingspan and is a defensive monster.I suspect if they don't want to sign a big point they go youth and if Sexton is available they pounce too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVxG2_DS960www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB7Jn4nL_wMIf anything it's a great asset alot better bench piece than Frankie. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfghGZExe6owww.youtube.com/watch?v=SW-2mDhySbY

I wonder if Rose and Wes are looking at Patty Mills on the low because he's a PG that no one is talking about. We, I'm sure can offer him something a little under both Lowry and CP3. Just because it appears that Rose is doing moves no one expected so far.

I don’t know if they love Vildoza so much or if they just signed him because they were one of the few teams that could because they had cap space and thought maybe they’d get lucky. They made his contract easy to get out of, and we’ve already seen them draft two point guards and if they now spend big money on a point guard in free agency you can assume he has no future here. His contract becomes guaranteed for this upcoming season only if he’s on the roster on opening day, so he very well could be a cap casualty or just cut loose because they have too many point guards.
