Per Woj:
Memphis is finalizing a trade to send Jonas Valanciunas and 2021 Nos. 17 and 51 picks to New Orleans for Steven Adams, Eric Bledsoe, 2021 picks Nos. 10 and 40 and a protected 2022 first-round pick via the Lakers, sources tell ESPN.

This would create cap space to keep Lonzo Ball while getting a more mobile big to play next to Zion.

I just personally think that Adams wasn't the issue with that team and actually was the defensive glue that kept it together. And you don't send a 10th pick away JUST to get Eric Bledsoe off the team. Just a mind boggling deal from a rebuilding standpoint but hey it's not my team.

i think NO gets 20 mil in cap space. And maybe they think one of the guys this board raves about will be available at 10, Or they move pick 10 to go up even further.

NO doesn’t need cap space to keep Lonzo Ball, they can go over to sign him, but from what I’m reading even if they did they have no desire to keep him, and they’re going to go after Kyle Lowry. Anyone else concerned that they’re so willing to let Lonzo walk, and this should be a red flag for the Knicks? I’ve heard so many conflicting reports on what the Knicks will do my head is spinning. Even from the players side. Heard Lonzo prefers the Bulls, but now I hear he prefers the Knicks, although according to Begley the Knicks aren’t big fans. I hear the Knicks want Lowry, but are afraid he doesn’t want them and will use them to drive up his price. Today’s rumor is Lowry, Fournier and Dinwiddie. Let’s get this over with! Back to this deal, I also read that Bledsoe will be either traded again or bought out as they have no plans on keeping him.

This post kinda encapsulates my thoughts on what the Knicks will do this offseason. I can boil it down to three words.
WTF?

Yeah not that I care what the Pelicans do, but for sure it made them worse by getting rid of the better pick and Steven Adams who's only 27/28 I believe and a really good big man.
Just weird. 10 and 40 picks are better than 17 and 51. Is Eric Bledsoe that bad??
Like I truly feel the Pelicans got worse and traded out of a really good lottery.

I see both sides here. Rx mentioned that NO can go over the cap to resign Lonzo. Maybe they cant. We dont know what limit ownership may have placed. I've followed Adams since before he went to college. I like him and his his attitude. And as Jason mentioned, he is a better defender. But as of today Jonas has more range and may be a better rebounder. (adams is working at extending his range.) If N O is serious about Lowry they may have needed to delete salaries and years. And Bledsoe may not be "that bad" but he certainly isnt getting better and seems to be slipping.
Finally I doubt Memphis prefers Steven to Jonas. I dont think they want Bledsoe that much. They want that pick. Maybe Moses Moody or Giddney.
