I hope IQ (and Obi) can achieve the same level of improvement from his rookie year to his second year that RJ achieved this season. RJ's play was almost as instrumental in the Knicks success as Randle and Rose. One thing we can count on from all our Knicks is their work ethic.

That level of improvement would be wonderful. I always taught my players to put in the work. But last night I learned that Kobe said you have to love the work. Even some that work hard are not capable of loving the work. I get the impression that RJ truly loves the work. Pitino said that coming into the league RJ couldn't make a 12 footer. Now he is above average from three line and quite good on corner threes. Hard work to improve that much that quick. And his defense has also significantly imoroved. I would love to Obi and IQ similarly improve as you mentioned. I'm watching and loving D'Andre Ayton. Didnt love him in college and thought Luka was a much better first pick. But his effort conditioning and passion is so much better than it was a couple years ago. And in the right situation, as some young bigs retain those flaws for many years, maybe forever. But he got lucky. Monty made him a PRO. And CP3 made him a vet. Now he's really special.

I love Thibs but I'm slightly jealous of the Suns having Monty Williams. He is an exceptional coach not just in Xs and Os but how he teaches them like men and gives both vets and young players and equal to improve and contribute to winning. Also I wanted to mention if you didn't know but before Kobe died Booker went to Kobe school like Jason Tatum and learned from the master a few years before he died. This is why Tatum and Booker haven't been the same since. I wish RJ got that chance too.

Aug 8 - 17 in Vegas. I believe the smaller 4 team Utah summer league is Aug 3-6. All 30 teams will play in Vegas.
