There is a picture posted where Mitch Robinson claims to be 275 lbs!!! Personally I don't think so but he does look like he has added some bulk and definition. Maybe he's nearer 250 than 275 but he is bigger. IMHO Mitch is a key player in 2021-22. He missed a lot of games this past season but that doesn't bother me much because they were both freak injuries easily recovered from with no long term ramifications.
A stronger Mitch who can hold his position in the post is going to be very beneficial to the Knicks but Mitch has to expand his offensive game. I saw a bunch of off season video of MRob handling the ball like a guard on the perimeter and nailing picture perfect treys and midrange jumpers both off the bounce and also as spot shots off screens. A summer spent improving his post game (why bigs don't shoot more hooks is mystifying to me especially since Kareem is the all time NBA leading scorer) and expanding his offense which in turn expands his role in the offense beyond lobs can turn Mitchell into the type of player I covet.
Christian Wood. Even taller than Christian, every bit as athletic and already an accomplished defensive player. Mitchell is EASILY capable of 15-10-3 (points, boards, blocks) in 30+ MPG. Make the center part of the offense and the Knicks scoring woes are significantly decreased.
If Cleveland drafts one of the two Jalens (Suggs or Green) Sexton goes on the block. I still am in favor of the Knicks pursuing a trade for Sexton. Sexton is an untapped gold mine. Like Trae Light. I'm also way in favor of the Knicks moving up in the draft. A new guy to watch is Tennessee swingman Keon Johnson who set a combine record with a 48" vertical. He's a bit of a project but that level of athleticism is rare. Plus you can teach youngsters to shoot if their name isn't Simmons or Payton.
My Gator Guy SF Scottie Lewis may be worth a look. Finished 3rd in the vertical with a 42" leap, showed speed and versatility in the ¾ court sprint and lane agility event finishing first in both with a 7' wingspan at 6'5. Scottie is a stellar defender but a project on offense and right now he looks to be just out of the draft so maybe a post draft free agent signee. Texas big man Jericho Sims, a legitimate 6'10, 250, was second to Johnson in the vertical at 44.5" and one of the fastest bigs. He also has a 7'3 wingspan. If the Knicks don't sign Noel maybe this kid deserves a look.
34 days till the draft. 38 days till free agency.
