Now comes the draft before free agency. Here is were we shined last year in getting IQ.I have found us a play making point who has the skills as a point to distribute and get into the paint yes there is one there for us to pick.He is ther right now let's hope things don't change leading into draft,he doesn't shoot threes well so his stock is late first right in our sweet spot his name is Sharife Cooper. He is an assist guy like very few seen at the garden in years.I can see him averaging 10 assits a game easy.If we add shooting through free agency then his shooting from downtown won't hurt us. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnRkSt_--Vw

He's an excellent player BUT... I like Florida's Tre Mann more. Mann is a combo guard. He's an athletic 6'5 kid with 3 level scoring skills, untapped playmaking ability and he's a great kid who works hard. I have seen him since HS (he's from Gainesville but played at a charter school in southern Marion County) and he keeps improving. Great wingspan, outstanding worth ethic and character and he can shoot from range, off the dribble or at the rim. More clever than explosive he still gets the job done. Lots of untapped potential as a distributor he has all the moves to get his shot when he wants it whether it be with step backs, hesitation dribbles or just plain blowing by a defender.
I'd be happy with Cooper. I'd be happier with Tre. Keep in mind I'm pretty objective about Gator players so if I endorse one it's because I don't have on my Orange and Blue spectacles though in this case I do. Of course they are Knicks Orange and Blue.

I like Tre Bill, you said he has untapped play making ability, well you see with Sharife it is tapped already a bonafide assist guy no bones about it his main asset is the assit and he drives the lane to obtain those assist which is exactly what we need.I want a natural distributor who doesn't need it to be tapped it was tapped from birth. This kid is special reminds me of another Tre but without the shot.

I sincerely doubt that unless the Knicks can get in the lottery and draft one of the top echelon PGs (Cunningham, Suggs, Mitchell) that ANY rookie PG will get significant burn. The Knicks are a playoff team building towards making their roster more competitive now. I'm leaning towards, but not necessarily agreeing with, the off season strategy of signing a veteran PG like Kyle Lowry and a scorer like DeMar DeRozan or Norman Powell and letting Lowry split time with Rose.
That means our draft strategy has to be centered on potential. The Knicks have to find college and Euro talent like the Heat have done with guys like Nunn and Robinson. Potential wise Tre Mann has it all. But first you have to know that once Florida's best player and leading scorer Keyontae Johnson went down the Gators needed scoring bad and Mann was one of the players tasked with a more aggressive scoring role. Make no mistake about it that he can distribute the ball. Right now he is a better scorer than Cooper because he has more range and diversity on offense. He even has a killer floater. He's taller and in keeping with the current NBA trend he can play 3 positions plus he can defend.

I agree the guy we need to trade up for is Davion Mitchell,he's 24 ready made for NBA action.Plus he is the best defender at the point and his outside shot is money. The guy is tough and mature like Thibs likes.I agree but there is guys like IQ that get burn from coach.Your point is valid on Cooper,a more season Mitchell is right up Thibs alley.I like Butler and Mitchell both Baylor guys. This draft has alot of flavors cause if you like scorers you have alot of choice, the reason I posted Cooper is because as far as play making I think he is like Paul. But Mitchell to me is a perfect fit for our system.

This draft is huge June 21-27 will be the draft combine. This is nice for getting back to normal. In June two days away June 22 we get the draft lottery, this is important because one of the teams we want to trade up with has a swap in place if they don't get to a certain spot.I propose trade all our picks for the sixth pick value wise it works but you have to have a partner. The official draft day is July 29th.Teams can star negotiating free agent August 2 and official sign them August 6.Exciting times for our new management team who has shown great skills at wheeling and dealing the shit they pulled off last year was amazing work.

One of my hopes is the Knicks can package picks to get Mitchell. As you point out he is perfect for the Knicks. He is a clever playmaker, he can score and he can defend. He's a below average FT shooter who actually regressed his 3 years at Baylor and only this year did he show 3 point range but it's all fixable. You don't get this kid's attitude and approach often and as you say he's got a bit of that Chris Paul 'tude. Me likee!!!

My only problem with Mitchell is free throw shooting which is extremely bad and would not work late in games, that is huge problem not sure if we can correct. It's hard to find a player without flaws in this draft that is were scouting and talking to the guys to se which guys have that will to improve and get better and who when he signs a contract is going tp party and not try, these things is what the draft combine are about too nice to see us going back to normal with the combine.I would still love Mitchell and play Rose in closing games if you have too.

One would think the Jazz would want to add a player and not trade Mitchell. That would be starting over. One exec stated knicks wpuld likely not want 3 rookies. He believed that if they packaged both firsts and their high second they could get to maybe 8th pick

I think...🤔😅

Yes correct Jason, but now I found a new love in this draft ,this guy reminds me of alot of great players in one,he is simply unstoppable. We have to trade up to 12 at least, his name is James Bouknight, the guy can create his shot, has a sick handle, unstoppable and great shooter.I know we need a point but this man is special, here are some highlights he even has a clip in it doing harlem globtrotter stuff it's towards end.The best rebounding two I have ever seen,he has hops, think about the fast breaks he will start,he might play some one like Dame. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt-0wi0ufRU He has one of the best finger rolls, his short game is awesome.I love the way he uses the glass,he has very high elevation on his shots around the rim,he jump extremely fast ,very quick leaper.Oh also he's a new york kid.He was hurt a good part of his freshman year otherwise he would be untouchable,he rose to the mid teens now so a trade up is only way we get him.He might be second best player to Cade in this draft when all is said and done,I think he is a special talent.

Bouknight is being mocked on one site in top ten teritory,or low teens so we have to secure a pick at 8 or 9 with our two first and Knox/Frankie ,I would love to keep Our Detriot's second out of deal because in that asset we might get another Mitch type and at 2nd rounder contract money is a very very valuable asset to have.I'm hoping we can get the eight pick in this draft that is what I want.Bouknight should be there.I am extremely high on him and if our scouting is as goodas I think it is that's were they want to go if somehow Bouknight goes before 8th we have nice pick trade down alittle wheel and deal and still get Mitchell.Davoin is moving up too,his game is NBA ready getting Mitchell or Bouknight would be my quest draft day.

Missed watching the Knicks in the lottery. But i'm happy they aren't in it. Curious. Gosh we've grown up. Maybe we can trade Frank to Houston for Cade Cunningham.
