Did you actually read the article? What did Bondy say that was so outrageous? Young Knicks star wants to get paid and to win! Truly scandalous material. Signing KP not a foregone conclusion! Clearly, this was written with an agenda. Perhaps even by Vladimir Putin himself. Bondy may have written hatchet jobs before, but this isn't one of them. But I will put a memo in the suggestion boxes of the New York Post and the New York Daily News to have this board review all future Knicks articles. If I am playing the lead in Man of the Man of the Mancha, then you two are up for parts on the lifeboat in Ship of Fools. How a New York sports writer can influence professional athletes playing for a New York team is based on what exactly? That is fear mongering on a Trumpian level. Please cite me any time when any player who has cited that a New York sports writer was the reason for them leaving or not signing in New York. I'll wait!

I dont want to debate and defend a pompous fool like this author of sleaze is. Jason, I am not saying that Bondy hasn't written hatchet articles before, but this isn't one of them. Your counter point to my point is to dismiss everything Bondy writes. All I read was: KP wants to get paid and to win and it is not a foregone conclusion that he signs with the Knicks as he will have options as a free agent. How you went to Defcon 1 on this article is, IMO, based more on your overall opinion of Bondy then what he actually wrote in the article. Sigh! Let me spell it out for you. I dont mind objective opinions in media on the Knicks. Like Rx said I dont want censorship because that's inhumane and un-American. But with that said someone manufacturing a story that is irrelevant(quoting a 13 year old KP? REALLY?) is akin to looking kn the internet or rather those old archive machines in a library and finding something desperately to talk about. Here's my problem with Berman, Bondy and Isola. When we were winning and going to the playoffs in the Woody season and the Dantoni season respectively these hatchet jobs spun controversy to stir up ignorant fans when the focus should've been on unity or at minimum a city rallying together for the Knicks to crush Boston and Indiana respectively. Then he quotes in this same article the fact that Sean Marks wants KP. If I believe Sean Marks the Brooklyn GM really said that to him, then it's a tampering violation because you can't talk about acquiring another teams player. You know that. So because I dint think Marks is a dumbass and told Bondy of all people that, he just lied. You then state you JUST READ ONLY that KP wants to get paid. So I ask you. DID you read the article? Do I look like the type of person to make a big deal out of nothing? I dont like my intelligence insulted and because we are rebuilding the right way for once, some of these media types are throwing a whole bunch of shit out there that isnt true. It's a rip piece designed to get attention and not really dependent on facts except those same mysterious inside sources every NY journalist quotes but never, ever seems to get identified. I'm thinking Dolan has to run some spycraft in his organization to weed out these traitors to the cause. Give everybody in the inner circle a salacious bit of info and see which version leaks out?

What separates me from you here is acknowledging, and this seems to be a problem area for you, the difference between past and present. Today's Jim Dolan is not the same guy as 2010 Jim Dolan. If you cannot acknowledge that simple fact why debate? I will acknowledge that at any time, like an alcoholic falling off the wagon, the new Jimmy Dolan could be replaced by the old Jimmy Dolan. That's a given. I'm just not as convinced as you that will happen. In fact you are certain that will happen. We are going on 5 years (in March when Phil Jackson was hired in 2014) that Dolan has stayed out of Knicks business. The sole blight on his PR record is the Oakley incident and again if you can be objective Oakley and as much if not more fault than Dolan.
Now here is the one defining difference between Jim Dolan and journalists/announcers like Bondy, Isola, Berman, Vescey and Albert. Dolan's sole agenda was to make the Knicks better. He made huge mistakes. He hired the wrong people. He allowed some really stupid shit to happen inside the organization. But he always signed the checks and he always wanted the Knicks to be winners. I will not debate that Dolan is a narcissistic, entitled trust baby riding on his Daddy's coattails. I will say he tried to do the right thing and just was not capable of sublimating his ego to the mission which is what he is doing now.

I see, Dolan has done far worse than merely make bad basketball decisions. He has defended Isiah Thomas even after being convicted of sexual harassment and continues to question the verdict. He defended Harvey Weinstein and man guilty of decades long sexual harassment and the poster boy for #Metoo movement. He has attacked and slandered form employees,fans and anyone in the media he feels is too critical of him or the Knicks. And guess what, the media is not their to be his friend. Oh I admit I have very low standards for Dolan. He's the only owner my team has. So he gets many restarts from me. Currently he has so many positive points from firing Fill and Rambis & hiring Fiz and Perry that he is a net positive to me. The other side is that quite a few top shelf free agents change teams in spite of less money. BABS 85% statement helped as I'm now sitting on the ledge and not leaning over it. While the article may have been a hatched job, I didn't see it as unfair. Are the articles that say Durant may leave Draymond and come to NY hatchet jobs of the Dubs? The worst part of the 85% is while that KP may prefer NY to LA, Brooklyn is somewhat close to NY. 😔 |

The so cold Sports writers you named ARE sleazebags, and while Dolan isn't a perfect owner he has shown that he's willing to Let's Mills and Perry run the show while he tortures audiences with his lousy music. He's also someone who's always been willing to spend money., and now that he doesn't get involved in basketball activity I don't see what there is to complain about with him.
